Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
STIMULUS PAYMENT
DID YOU RECEIVE: Social Security Benefits?
Disability Compensation?
Pension or Survivors’ Benefits from the Dept
of Veterans Affairs?
Even if you are not otherwise
required to file a tax return, you may still be entitled to an economic stimulus
payment from the federal government.
You could receive a payment of $300 for individuals or $600 if you are married and
file a joint tax return with your spouse.
Eligible taxpayers who qualify for a payment may receive an additional $300 for
each qualifying child. To qualify a
child must be under age 17 as of December 31st, 2007.
YOU MUST FILE A 2007 TAX RETURN IN
ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE STIMULUS PAYMENT.
KI BOIS Community Action is in their
fifth
year assisting people with their
free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. KI BOIS VITA sites will
prepare Stimulus Payments returns for those with earned income that do not have a filing requirement, and recipients of Social Security and veterans with disabilities benefits
if they receive at least $3000 in earned income and/or benefits from these programs. If you have questions regarding the
Stimulus payment or need your income tax prepared, contact your nearest KI BOIS
