Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that provides education, nutrition, health, and social services to income eligible preschool children and their families. It is one of the most successful federal programs ever created.  Head Start helps prepare children to enter kindergarten as it embraces families and encourages them to achieve a better life.

KI BOIS Head Start is a part of KI BOIS Community Action Foundation, Inc., a private non-profit organization.  KI BOIS Head Start centers are located throughout Latimer, LeFlore, Haskell, and Pittsburg counties.  KI BOIS Head Start is funded to serve 893 children. Full day pre-school classes are provided to four-year-old children in locations where collaborations have been formed between KI BOIS Head Start and the local Public School.
